Adjunct Faculty - History

Position Summary: Engages students in the teaching/learning process; works assigned schedule,represents the College in the community, and performs other related duties asrequired. Classeswill be in-person during the day and possible online classes. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Plan andteachcourses that fulfill the current curriculum goals andobjectives.Remains current with subject matter and instructionalmethodology. Employsappropriate assessmenttechniques to measure student performance in achieving course goals andobjectives. Communicates progress in the course to studentsin a timely manner. Determinesandsubmitsstudents’ gradesin accordance withestablished College policies and procedures. Supports the mission of the program, division, and college. Supervisory Responsibilities: None Education and/or Experience: Master’s degree in historyor related fields with 19 graduate hours in history courses. A minimum of twoyears’teaching experience preferred, preferably at the college level. OtherSkills, and Abilities: Ability to effectively communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom situations. Proficient in word-processing and presentation software,internet, and e-mail. Demonstratedability to work with a diverse group of students. Capability to teach in more than one discipline. Demonstratedability to advise students. Effective verbal, written, and listening communication skills. Effective problem-solving skills. Ability toworka combination of days/evening/weekend schedules.
