About the Position

Job Title: RN - OR/Surgery Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: Operating Room Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Day Shift Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year License: RN License Required Certifications: Certification Required for Surgical Technicians Must-Have: Candidates must have neuro/spine experience for the cardiac service line. Certification is a must for surgical technicians. Description: This position is a contract role for an RN specializing in Operating Room/Surgery. The schedule is Tuesday, Thursday, and Friday from 6:30 AM to 7:00 PM. Call is required with a minimum of 4 to 5 shifts over a 6-week period. Shift patterns include both late shifts and weekends. The unit consists of 22 operating rooms with a staffing of 80. One team is in-house at all times, offering 1:1 patient ratios. The type of equipment includes robotics, cardiac, vascular, neuro, spine, oncology, orthopedics, plastics, urology, and GYN. This unit does not manage trauma cases. Typical procedures performed include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, spine fusions, total joints, craniotomies, mastectomies, and DIEP flaps. We are looking for candidates who are flexible, self-directed, and possess a positive attitude. Scrubs will be provided; however, closed-toe and heeled non-slip shoes are required. This unit has low turnover, and there are opportunities for permanent positions. Teamwork is highly valued, and we have successfully transitioned several contract staff to permanent roles.
