About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor and Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 hours (19:00 - 07:30) Experience: Minimum 1 year required, high-risk experience preferred License: Active compact license required Certifications: BLS, NRP required; ACLS, AWHONN Advanced, AWHONN Intermediate preferred Must-Have: High-risk experience Ability to work in fast-paced, high-acuity environments Experience with electronic fetal monitoring Description: This position requires a registered nurse specializing in labor and delivery. Candidates must have experience in high-risk cases. Nurses will function in the role of Baby Nurse during deliveries, providing care for newborns until transfer to postpartum. Responsibilities include circulating for C-sections and providing newborn care. Candidates may float to postpartum and antepartum units as needed. The unit handles a high volume of deliveries, averaging 500-600 deliveries per month. Staffing is in accordance with AWHONN guidelines. The registered nurse will work every other weekend and holidays as required. Pre-approved time off will be considered on a case-by-case basis. The role may involve assisting with high-risk deliveries and supporting various patient diagnoses. Candidates should have experience with various nursing skills relevant to labor and delivery. There is an emphasis on teamwork and interdisciplinary support in this role. Experience with EPIC charting is required. Candidates should be able to manage multiple tasks efficiently and effectively. The nurse's role is critical in ensuring both maternal and neonatal safety during labor and delivery processes.
