Housed in the historic Capital Garage Building, our 7,700 square foot space is home to three performance stages — The Beatrice (101-seat Thrust Theater), The Berry (modular Black Box), and The Cabaret — along with a spacious lobby, George’s Bar, and flexible rental spaces. We exist to create powerful theatre, support Chicago artists, and serve as an open door for the broader creative community. A portion of every booking is reinvested directly into the work and well-being of local artists. We’re looking for a Venue Operations Manager who shares our passion for the arts and for building a space where creativity thrives. Position Overview The Venue Operations Manager is the operational heartbeat of Bramble Arts Loft. This role is responsible for the day-to-day management of the venue — overseeing rentals and bookings, coordinating with clients and resident artists, scheduling technicians, and ensuring every event runs smoothly. The ideal candidate is an organized, people-first professional who thrives in a fast-paced arts environment and brings 3–5 years of relevant experience. Key Responsibilities Venue & Event Management Oversee all venue rentals, bookings, and event inquiries from initial contact through event execution Serve as the primary point of contact for external clients, event planners, and community renters Coordinate scheduling across The Beatrice, The Berry, The Cabaret, and the open Loft spaces Ensure all events are set up and broken down according to client specifications and venue standards Manage event logistics including vendor coordination, A/V setup, and staff scheduling Facilities & Operations Maintain day-to-day facility operations, including vendor relationships and scheduled routine maintenance Manage inventory of equipment, furniture, and supplies Ensure the venue meets all safety, accessibility, and compliance standards Develop and enforce venue policies and procedures for clients and resident companies Community & Artist Relations Foster relationships with resident theatre companies, local artists, and community partners Support Bramble’s mission by helping identify and implement nonprofit and artist discount programs Collaborate with the co-founders and production team on scheduling for in-house productions and programming Administrative Manage rental contracts, invoicing, and client communications in coordination with leadership Track venue usage, revenue, and occupancy; provide regular reports to leadership Assist in developing rental pricing strategies and packages Qualifications Required 3–5 years of experience in venue operations, event management, or performing arts administration Strong organizational and project management skills with the ability to manage multiple events simultaneously Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; comfortable working with a wide range of clients and collaborators Flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required by event schedules Passion for the arts and a genuine commitment to community-centered work Preferred Experience working in a black box, thrust, or multi-use performing arts venue Familiarity with A/V systems, lighting (ETC), or basic production setup Experience with venue management or event booking software Knowledge of Chicago’s arts and nonprofit landscape Compensation & Benefits Salary: $60,000–$70,000 annually, commensurate with experience Full-time, permanent position Opportunity to grow with a young, mission-driven organization PTO accrual and end of year bonus structure A supportive, artist-first workplace culture in one of Chicago’s most vibrant neighborhoods How to Apply Please submit a resume and a brief cover letter (no more than one page) describing your experience and why you’re excited about this role at Bramble Arts Loft.
