Snyder Environmental Services is seeking an experienced Accounting Specialist to support the Chief Financial Officer with daily accounting operations. This position is ideal for someone with construction accounting experience who is detail-oriented, organized, and thrives in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

·         Prepare and file Sales & Use Tax returns.

·         Maintain job costing and equipment cost records.

·         Manage accounts receivable, collections, and aging reports.

·         Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules.

·         Perform general ledger reconciliations and assist with month-end close.

·         Ensure compliance with fringe benefit requirements, business licenses, permits, tax filings, and other regulatory reporting obligations.

·         Assist in preparing year-end reports, tax filings, audit schedules, and other annual financial reporting requirements.

·         Support the CFO with financial reporting, budgeting, and other accounting functions as assigned.

·         Process weekly payroll, payroll taxes, and certified payroll.

·         Ensure compliance with prevailing wage requirements.

Qualifications

• Minimum of five (5) years of accounting experience, preferably in construction.
• Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business preferred, but not required.
• Experience with:

  • Sales & Use Tax
  • Accounts Receivable and collections
  • Fixed assets and depreciation

• Strong Microsoft Excel and computer skills.
• Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
