Planner

Position Summary:
Plans and coordinates production schedules using the ERP system. Ensures customer orders are planned properly to drive raw materials as required and that the production plan is executed as needed. Reviews expedites and customer changes, as well as weekly portals, to ensure that changes fit within the standard plan.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:

• Works toward exceeding all timelines and delivery goals for both internal and external customers.

• Firms and/or creates production orders for assigned work centers.

• Uses critical thinking to ensure plans are attainable.

• Works on material shortages and communicates with the necessary teams.

• Follows logic of resource capabilities to assign jobs to work centers as needed.

• Communicates issues with other departments as required.

• Performs ERP transactions as needed to move parts to stock, complete production orders, and handle other required transactions.

• Supports the Master Planner by performing assigned planning and coordination duties to maintain operational efficiency.

• Provides back‑up support to the Shipping & Receiving Department as needed to ensure uninterrupted department operations.

• Drives continuous improvement methodology for planning functions.

• Reports on defined KPIs.

• Maintains a safe and clean work environment by adhering to 5S and GMP (Good Manufacturing Practice) policies.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Applications (Excel, Word, Outlook).

• Understanding of ERP/MRP systems; Microsoft Dynamics preferred.

• Good written and verbal communication skills.

• Good hand‑eye coordination and manual dexterity.

• Strong organizational and attention‑to‑detail skills.

• Ability to work cohesively within a team environment while coordinating and collaborating with personnel from other departments.

• Proven ability to manage substantial administrative responsibility in a fast‑paced work environment.

• Knowledge of electronics specifications and BOM experience is helpful.

• Must be able to work with ITAR data without a license.

Education, Experience and Training:

• Bachelor’s degree in supply chain, manufacturing, or a related field preferred, or a 2‑year technical degree.

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, materials planning, or related administrative/ERP support roles.

Physical Requirements and Working Environment:

• This role is performed on‑site and is primarily an in‑office role.

• Must be able to lift up to 15 lbs occasionally.

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

• Occasional standing, walking, or moving within the office or production/shipping department areas.

• May be required to adjust work schedule to support operational needs.

• Must adhere to safety policies and maintain a clean and organized workspace.
