Associate Attorney

We are a well-established, "AV" rated litigation firm founded in 1970. We are seeking a Civil Litigation Attorney to join its thriving defense practice. This is an excellent opportunity for an attorney looking to take ownership of cases, gain significant courtroom experience, and work alongside a team of accomplished litigators handling complex and high-exposure matters.

 

The ideal candidate will have experience in civil litigation defense and be comfortable managing cases through all phases of litigation.

 

Responsibilities
-Independently manage a caseload from inception through resolution
-Draft pleadings, motions, discovery requests, and legal memoranda
-Conduct and defend depositions of parties, witnesses, and experts
-Attend hearings, mediations, arbitrations, and court appearances
-Develop litigation strategy and evaluate case exposure
-Communicate directly with insurance carriers, clients, and opposing counsel
-Prepare cases for trial and assist with trial proceedings
-Negotiate settlements and participate in alternative dispute resolution
-Maintain strong client relationships through proactive communication and reporting

 

Qualifications
-J.D.
-Active membership in the Florida or South Carolina Bar
-3+ years of civil litigation experience preferred
-Strong deposition, motion practice, and case management skills
-Excellent legal research, writing, and advocacy abilities
-Ability to manage deadlines and multiple cases simultaneously
-Trial experience is a plus but not required
