Summary You will serve as a Material Handler Supervisor in the Material Readiness Cell (MRC) Branch, in the Supply Department (Code 500), located at the NORFOLK NAVAL SHIPYARD. Responsibilities You will plan the use of subordinate workers, equipment, facilities, and materials based on workload projections on a regular and reoccurring basis. You will review and evaluates the work of subordinate employees, explain work requirements, methods and procedures required to perform tasks. You will coordinate with leadership and employees in developing plans for storage and arrangement of stock in accordance with agency regulations. The Screen-out Element for this position is: ABILITY TO LEAD OR SUPERVISE Ability to execute, implement, and oversee DoD and Navy Supply Chain operations, relationships, and responsibilities, including the strategic execution of material movement processes. Ability to lead, supervise, and coordinate diverse personnel while prioritizing multiple resources and efforts simultaneously in a high-traffic, dynamic, and fast-paced operational environment. Ability to interpret instructions, relay appropriate information to personnel with a need-to-know, maintain rigid safety standards, and manage accurate records for performance measurement, including scheduling, communication, and timekeeping. Ability to plan, coordinate, and establish critical deadlines, priorities, and work sequences, while actively resolving complex work issues and implementing corrective solutions.
