MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse

Schedule

Night shift: 3x12 hours (19:00 - 07:00), every other weekend.

Job Description

The MedSurg/Telemetry Registered Nurse will provide care to patients in the Acute Stroke Unit, focusing on acute medical and neurological conditions. The role emphasizes an adjustable acuity model, ensuring evidence-based practices in both primary prevention and acute care interventions.

Responsibilities

• Manage patient ratios of 1:5 to 1:7 for MedSurg care.
• Perform cardiac monitoring and interpretation of dysrhythmias.
• Administer IV therapy and perform phlebotomy.
• Utilize advanced airway management techniques, including nasal cannula and non-invasive strategies.
• Adhere to isolation precautions and ensure patient safety.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• 1 year of nursing experience in a MedSurg/Telemetry setting.
• New York State RN license in hand - no exceptions.
• ACLS, BLS, and valid NIHSS certifications are required.
• Must have EPIC charting experience.
