Quality Assurance Engineer

Role Overview: Candidates should have excellent skills with functional and automation testing tools, techniques & methodologies and should be able to make effective contributions in the product development by providing effective QA services in an agile development environment. Work with business and client's technical leads on extending the designing and implementing solutions to achieve the team & organization's common goals. Effectively communicate amongst the team members that are co-located as well as with those working from offshore and mentor the junior members of the team.

Responsibilities: Responsibilities include working with Senior QA and Dev. Tech Lead for designing and developing frameworks and implementation for automated tests. Work under guidance - on test strategies and implementing manual tests, debugging, defining corrective actions and provide guidance to QA Engineers. Also conduct testing before product releases to ensure the software meets the user's needs, review system requirements and track and analyze quality assurance metrics. Provide constructive and objective feedback to development team that is effective in identifying root causes. Work independently or with a team of QA Engineers to provide feedback and participate in resolving problems. Mentor junior members of the team, provide guidance on frameworks, design principles and best practices that will help the project and enrichment of the team. Ensure that tests provide 100% coverage of code (of the modules under test) and ensure they cover the relevant combinations of inputs, outputs and error conditions.

Required skills: 5 +years of experience QA with Functional & Automation testing skills. Well versed with Agile principles and processes for project execution, with collocated and distributed teams (onsite-offshore). Work with Sr. QA and support the team effort in developing, designing and validating Test plans for the business requirements explained in the user stories. Under guidance, quickly progress to estimating, prioritizing, planning and coordinating quality testing activities. Understand and follow the quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts. Work closely with agile team (scrum or other) – Developers, Product owner and Scrum Master. Creating Test Scripts for each Test Case using Test Automation tools – primarily Selenium. Should be able to create scripts for fairly complex application usage scenarios in Test Automation tool using programming languages, preferably C #.NET and Java Script. Execute and monitor Test Scripts using Test Automation tools like Selenium to identify defects in software application and their causes with regards to specific IT projects. Knowledge of Microsoft Test Manager, and tools and frameworks like Jasmine & Karma. Comparison of project reports with the baseline reports. Analysis and Reporting of comparison reports for any discrepancy or defects. Defect tracking in TFS to initiate testing after fixing/re-fixing the defects by development team. Provide technical documentation of Test reports to all project stake holders. Actively participate in sprint ceremonies with client, testing and development teams in collaborative. Ensure that all testing related work is carried out as per the defined standards and procedures. Excellent communication skills to work effectively as a team player. Past experience in agile software development project on a major programming platforms such as Microsoft.NET will be a preferred qualification.
