Cross Country Nurses is seeking a travel nurse RN PICU - Pediatric Intensive Care for a travel nursing job in Somerset, Kentucky. This role involves providing specialized nursing care to pediatric patients from newborn to 17 years old in a 12-hour night shift setting. The position is a replacement opportunity for a permanent staff member, with an emphasis on experienced professionals capable of managing critical care scenarios in a fast-paced environment. Job Details: Schedule: Night shifts, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week. Required Qualifications: Valid pediatric certification such as PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support), NRP (Neonatal Resuscitation Program), and BLS (Basic Life Support). A minimum of 3 years of pediatric ICU (PICU) nursing experience is required. Candidates must be able to work with a patient ratio of 3:1 or 4:1 depending on acuity and must have at least 36 hours guaranteed weekly. Preferred Qualifications: Experience managing common diagnoses including failure to thrive, hyperbilirubinemia, bronchiolitis, RSV, respiratory distress, N/V, and post-operative care. Float: Float rotation may be required depending on unit needs. Additional Information: Orientation is conducted weekly on Mondays. Candidates must have required certifications prior to start date. The unit has 8 beds, cares for pediatric patients up to 17 years, and utilizes the Meditech electronic health record system. The unit handles patients with various diagnoses, and the ideal candidate is self-motivated with strong assessment skills capable of multitasking in a dynamic environment.
