Job Summary
Medical Surgical with Telemetry (MS TELE) nurse position in San Luis Obispo. This role involves the planning, coordination, and provision of nursing care to patients on the medical/surgical unit. The position requires delivering age-appropriate care to adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients, including care planning, vital signs, medication management, and psychosocial support.

Job Details

• Schedule: Days shift, 12 hours per shift, minimum of 36 hours per week.
• Required Qualifications: Current RN license in state of practice, Associate Degree (A.S.) or equivalent, Bachelor's Degree in Nursing (preferred), Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy, 1-year experience in medical-surgical setting.
• Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS).
• Responsibilities: Provides appropriate nursing interventions in both stable and emergent patient situations. Competent in routine skills, including medication administration, intravenous therapy (including blood products), care of indwelling catheters and drains, and use of medical equipment such as glucose meters, IV pumps, and PCA machines. Delivers patient-centered care across diverse age groups and conditions, actively participates in multidisciplinary care planning, and educates patients and families. Delegates tasks to ancillary personnel based on competency and scope of practice, documents all care accurately and timely, and participates in staff training and process improvements.
