US Director Medical Affairs (USDMA): Rheumatology/Dermatology (Remote)

Merck seeks an experienced Director of Medical Affairs to lead rheumatology and dermatology medical strategy across the US market. This remote role drives scientific excellence, field readiness, and medical affairs execution while collaborating with cross-functional teams and global partners.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement regional medical affairs strategies aligned with global value and implementation planning goals
- Contribute to integrated country medical affairs plan, field engagement plan, and field training strategy
- Lead scientific engagement planning and ensure alignment with global scientific communications platform
- Identify and prioritize field resources, training needs, and coordinate pre- and post-congress educational activities
- Organize expert input events and advisory boards addressing new indications and emerging science
Requirements
- Advanced degree (MD, PhD, or PharmD) with recognized expertise in rheumatology or dermatology
- Minimum 5 years medical affairs experience or equivalent clinical and research background
- Minimum 3 years working in relevant therapeutic area with demonstrated scientific acumen
- Strong strategic decision-making and ability to manage complex, competing priorities
- Proven execution excellence leading multi-faceted projects in fast-paced environments
- Deep knowledge of US healthcare system, treatment guidelines, and FDA processes
- Exceptional ability to interpret and communicate complex scientific concepts across diverse audiences
