About the Role The Matsuoka Lab focuses on elucidating the complex genetic mechanisms that drive the development of the mature central nervous system (CNS). Research investigates how organ growth is coordinated with the formation of blood and lymphatic vascular networks, emphasizing that each organ develops unique vascular patterns essential for its specific function. The role of Research Student II Post Baccalaureate involves hands‑on experience in laboratory techniques, clinical procedures, data collection and analysis, and other related skills. You will work closely with research personnel and participate in a structured learning experience in laboratory or clinical research settings. Read more about the Matsuoka Lab: Schedule A caregiver in this role works days from 9:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. Responsibilities Learn laboratory techniques to support ongoing research projects in a laboratory or clinical setting. Learn how to record and analyze data related to research experiments or data sets. Other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications Undergraduate degree. May be accepted/enrolled in an accredited college or university as a medical student, MA/MS student or other graduate program students (EXCLUDES students in a PhD program). This position is NOT applicable to anyone who has completed all requirements for master’s or other advanced degrees. Preferred Qualifications Previous clinical research or research laboratory experience. Physical Requirements Ability to perform work in a stationary position for extended periods. Ability to operate a computer and other office equipment. Ability to communicate and exchange accurate information. Ability to distinguish color. Manual dexterity to handle specimens and repair equipment. Ability to lift and transport equipment or specimens weighing up to 20 pounds. May be exposed to hazardous chemicals, biohazards, radioactive materials, etc. Personal Protective Equipment Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required. Pay Minimum hourly: $15.00 Maximum hourly: $150.00 The pay range displayed on this job posting reflects the anticipated range for new hires. A successful candidate’s actual compensation will be determined after taking factors into consideration such as the candidate’s work history, experience, skill set and education.
