Locum Physician - Hospitalist

Vivo HealthStaff is recruiting for a Hospitalist in Portsmouth, VA, for locum night coverage in Suffolk, VA starting March 2025! This position offers competitive compensation and benefits, including lodging, rental car, and travel reimbursements.

Job Details:

Reason for Locum Coverage: Recruitment Gap
Open Dates: March 3, 13-17, 30, and 31 (Night shifts, 8 PM - 8 AM)
Patient Population: Adult
Average Admissions per Shift: 8-12
Average Total Census: 88+
ICU: Closed Medical ICU (24-hour intensivist coverage)
Responsibilities:
- No rounding
- No in-house codes
- Responsible for floor calls across 7 units (includes medical-surgical units, step-down units, and CVT ICU)
Support Staff: APPs available during the day; no overnight APP coverage
EHR: EPIC
Facility Type: Community Hospital (not a trauma center)
Credentialing Timeframe: Temporary privileges (~20-30 days, dependent on responsiveness and background)

Pay and Benefits:

Pay: $200 - $215 / Hour

Submission Requirements:

Board Certification: Required
Virginia License: Required at the time of name clear
Virginia DEA: Required
ACLS/BLS Certification: Required (AHA or American Red Cross)
Clean Background: Required for temporary privileges - no exceptions
Local Providers: Highly preferred
Specific Availability: Must be noted at the time of submission
