Job Title

RN – Patient Care Unit (IMC/PCU/Stepdown)

Schedule / Job Type

Contract | Night Shift | 12-Hour Shifts (6:30 PM – 7:00 AM)

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care on a 25-bed private unit (23 floor beds and 2 Medical Decision Unit beds) serving a diverse patient population including COPD exacerbation, CHF, swing bed, wound care, long-term antibiotic therapy, amputee care, post-partum, and pediatric patients
• Maintain a standard nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:4, with occasional stretch to 1:5
• Utilize central telemetry monitoring and portable telemetry monitors to assess and respond to patient status changes
• Document patient care accurately using Meditech Expanse and operate Alaris infusion pumps
• Collaborate with an interdisciplinary team including a non-patient-carrying Charge Nurse, Social Services, Case Managers, Therapy, Lab, and Pharmacy staff
• May float to the Emergency Department in a task nurse capacity only

Required Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a Medical Surgical / Telemetry unit
• Previous experience working in a Critical Access Hospital required
• BLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• ACLS certification (American Heart Association) required
• Personal reliable transportation is required — ride-share services are not available in this area

Preferred Experience / Skills

• PALS certification (American Heart Association) preferred
• Experience with Meditech Expanse EMR and Alaris infusion pumps
• Familiarity with swing bed programs and extended-stay patient populations
