Work Shift : 12am - 8:30am Monday - Friday with Alternating Saturdays The Target Pay for this position is $24.95 an hour. Job Purpose/Overview The Lead LaboratoryTechnicianoversees the day-to-day activities in an animal diagnostic reference laboratory performing laboratory analyses and tests.Supervises staff, assignsworkand evaluates results. Supervise day-to-day activities in the laboratory performing laboratory analyses and tests Supervise staff, assignworkandmonitoractivities Resolve escalated issues Administer employment actions, provide coaching and guidance to staff and promote staff training and development Provides input to department policies and procedures Leads work activities of the lab planning and organizing work,providingadequate staffing andresourcesandmaintainingwork on schedule so that ongoing customer satisfaction ismaintained Communicate with other related departments and laboratory supervisors and managers to coordinate work and resolve issues as needed. Contribute to the maintenance of department diagnostic equipment and other technical resources Coordinate with internal personnel, vendors and others as needed to resolve issues andmaintainongoing functionality Train on all according to all Standard Operating Procedures Oversee the entering and releasing of results Oversee the building and packing of send outs to the main lab. EducationandExperience High school diploma or equivalent required 2- or 4-yeardegree insciencerelated field preferred or minimum of1-yearclinical laboratory experience Prior leadership experience preferred Knowledge,Skillsand Abilities Laboratory skills and experience General science background Attention to detail and ability to workindependently Ability to multi-task in a fast-pacedenvironment The ability to communicate information so others will understand. Must be able to exchange accurate information in thesesituations Personal computer skills, strong typing ability, and knowledge of Microsoft Office. Working Conditions Stationary Position- must be able to remain in a stationary position for up to 2 hours. Constantly operates a computer and other lab equipment accurately and efficiently. Occasionally required to bend, kneel, stoop, or crouch May be required to lift, move, and carry up to 50 lbs. Heavy microscopic work The ability to observe details at close range. Proficiency in the English language which allows for participation in team meetings, accurate entry of data into company systems and understanding of written directions. Extended hours may beneeded Laboratoryenvironmentswith potential biohazards present that are mitigated by the mandatory use of PPE. Work under close to moderate supervision. Potential for exposure to agents known to cause zoonotic disease in humans and use of potentially hazardous chemicals as defined by the National Hazard Communication Standards.
