Network Engineer

DescriptionKforce is immediately seeking an experienced Network Engineer in support of our enterprise compute customer based in Round Rock, Texas.Summary:We are seeking a skilled Network Engineer with strong expertise in network automation and Layer 2/Layer 3 switching for on-site support. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimizing network infrastructure while driving automation initiatives to improve efficiency, reliability, and scalability.Key Responsibilities:* Design, configure, and maintain enterprise network infrastructure, with a focus on Layer 2/Layer 3 switching technologies* Develop and implement network automation solutions to streamline provisioning, configuration, and troubleshooting* Manage and optimize network performance, availability, and security across data center and campus environments* Automate routine network operations using scripting and orchestration tools* Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support network integration and deployment efforts* Troubleshoot complex network issues and perform root cause analysis* Maintain up-to-date network documentation, diagrams, and operational procedures* Participate in change management, incident response, and continuous improvement initiativesRequirements* Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience)* 5+ years of network engineering experience* Hands-on experience with network automation tools* Demonstrated proficiency in Python, Ansible, or similar scripting/automation frameworks* REST APIs and network programmability concepts* Strong expertise in: Layer 2/Layer 3 switching (VLANs, VRRP, MC-LAG, STP, VTP, PortChannel, and routing protocols such as OSPF/BGP); Network design and troubleshooting in enterprise environments* Familiarity with major networking platforms (e.g., Dell, Cisco, Arista, Juniper)* Solid understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, and network security fundamentalsJob TypeContractCompensation45 - $59
