Travel: No. Description At Northrop Grumman, you will work on revolutionary systems impacting people worldwide. This role is in the Manufacturing Operations Organization within the Aeronautics Systems sector as an Aircraft Structures Mechanic – Level 3 supporting our Clearfield, UT site. You will work on major assembly structures such as fuselage panels and bulkheads, and structural subassemblies such as rudders, flaps, and stabilizers. Hands‑on, detail‑oriented, and quality‑focused are key traits desired. Shift times: This position may be filled at varying shift times including weekdays, nights, and weekends (shift differential paid during eligible shifts). Candidate eligibility: Only external candidates and Northrop Grumman employees who are not currently Aircraft Structures Mechanics at the Clearfield site will be considered. Essential Functions Read and understand blueprints. Translate blueprints into fabrication of structural assemblies, including precision drilling, countersinking, and use of calibrated tools. Align parts on jigs using templates and fixtures. Perform part‑fitting operations such as filing, sawing, burring, crimping, trimming, framing, riveting, drilling, and reaming. Measure parts with precision tools such as micrometers and calipers to verify dimensions. May modify incomplete and complete assemblies to incorporate changes to structure and verify quality in accordance with statistical process or other control procedures. Daily usage of manufacturing shop controls and systems. Use appropriate PPE when working on the shop floor. Recommend and implement continuous improvement activities in production methods, equipment performance, and team effectiveness. Basic Qualifications High School Diploma or GED and a minimum of 4 years of structures/composites experience in an aerospace, automotive, military, manufacturing, or maintenance environment. Capacity to perform moderate strenuous physical and repetitive work: bending, stooping, kneeling, carrying tools, lifting up to 35 pounds, working overhead or at heights, and accessing small, confined spaces. Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government Secret level clearance and Special Program Access within a reasonable period; U.S. Citizenship required for clearance. Must successfully complete and pass the “ASTAR New Hire Training / Compliance” within a reasonable time period. Ability to work flexible, changing shifts, including weekends. Preferred Qualifications Current/active U.S. Government Secret level clearance. Experience in aerospace manufacturing. Demonstrated ability using standard measuring equipment and power hand tools. Ability to read and interpret schematics, assembly drawings, process specifications, technical manuals, written instructions, test procedures, blueprints, etc. Primary salary range: $52,700.00 – $87,900.00. Employees may be eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
