Role Summary

The Warehouse Associate & Backup Medical Courier supports Primex’s day-to-day logistics by maintaining an organized warehouse, preparing and tracking medical supplies, receiving and distributing inventory, and assisting with general storage and operational needs. The role also provides backup courier coverage for scheduled and urgent deliveries, including STAT pickups, and may require long-distance driving, irregular hours, and occasional use of a personal vehicle. Success in this position requires strong organization, reliability, flexibility, attention to detail, and the ability to safely manage both physical warehouse duties and time-sensitive medical deliveries.

Key ResponsibilitiesWarehouse Operations

• Maintain a clean, safe, and well-organized warehouse environment.
• Pull and stage medical supplies accurately for delivery or internal use.
• Receive, sort, and distribute incoming result mail and inventory shipments.
• Perform regular inventory counts and update supply tracking systems.
• Answer warehouse phone lines and assist with logistical inquiries.
• Operate a forklift to load/unload deliveries and manage stock (valid forklift license required).
• Assist with occasional maintenance and storage management projects in laboratory. 

Courier Support (Backup Role)

• Serve as a backup driver for scheduled or last-minute medical supply deliveries, including STAT (urgent) pickups.
• Coordinate closely with internal departments to fulfill time-sensitive delivery requests.
• Use personal vehicle for deliveries as needed (mileage reimbursement may apply).
• Willingness to drive long distances and work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays.
• Ensure secure handling and timely transport of medical materials in accordance with safety standards.

Qualifications & SkillsEducation & Experience

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience in warehouse, logistics, or delivery roles preferred.
• Familiarity with medical or laboratory environments is a plus.

Technical Skills

• Valid forklift certification required.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
• Comfortable using communication tools (e.g., phone, email) and basic inventory/laboratory software.
• Comfortable using computer with basic to moderate proficiency. 
• Ability to safely lift and move moderate to heavy materials.

Soft Skills

• Strong time management and organizational abilities.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and coordination skills, including phone answering etiquette.
• Reliable, self-motivated, and comfortable working both independently and in a team.
• Adaptable and flexible with last minute operational flow adjustments including scheduling, work tasks, etc. 

Other Requirements

• Willingness to use personal vehicle for work-related deliveries as needed (must maintain appropriate insurance; reimbursement policy applies).
• Reliable attendance and professional conduct.
• Ability to multitask and adapt in a fast-paced medical logistics setting.
• Must follow all company safety protocols and comply with HIPAA standards when handling any patient-related materials (training provided).

Work Environment

This position requires physical activity including lifting, standing, sitting, and driving for extended periods. The role operates primarily in a warehouse environment at Primex headquarters in Van Nuys, CA with occassional travel outside the facility for deliveries.
