Genesis is hiring experienced Valve Hydro-Static Test Tech. A valve hydrostatic test tech sets up, pressurizes, and inspects industrial valves using water to verify structural integrity and leak-proof seals under high pressure. The Tester is responsible for assembling, testing, and inspecting mechanical products and components according to blueprints, work instructions, and quality standards. This role uses hand and power tools, testing equipment, and various shop machinery to ensure products meet functional and performance requirements.

Schedule:  Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM (While on temp to perm, OT avail once transitioned to full time direct hire)
Pay Rate: $20 - $22/HR

Key Responsibilities

• Assemble products and components according to blueprints, routings, and specifications.
• Connect test manifolds, pumps, safety relief valves, and pressure gauges to the valve.
• Inspect parts and verify measurements meet required tolerances.
• Fill the valve body or seat with clean water and vent all trapped air to ensure accurate test readings.
• Clean, assemble, disassemble, and replace components as needed.
• Deburr, grind, buff, crimp, and rivet parts using hand tools, power tools, adhesives, epoxies, and chemicals safely.
• Operate shop equipment, including grinders, belt sanders, drill presses, hydraulic presses, fixtures, and gauges.
• Operate forklifts and other equipment as required.
• Maintain testing equipment and ensure accuracy of test procedures.
• Communicate work status, production issues, and progress to supervisors.
• While training candidates should be expect to help prep valves for paint, to use drills, hand/power tools to perform work.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or a technical trade certificate in mechanical or instrumentation fields.
• 3 years of previous hands-on experience in industrial valve repair, assembly, or pressure testing in a manufacturing or industrial assembly setting.
• Ability to read piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), technical manuals, and industry standards like ASME, API, and ISO.
• Strong attention to detail and quality standards.
• Good communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work in a manufacturing/shop environment with exposure to noise, dust, odors, and fumes.
• Ability to frequently stand, walk, bend, reach, and move throughout the facility.
• Ability to occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
