Procurement Manager

Overview:Sappi North America is seeking a Procurement Manager to serve as the primary liaison between Central Procurement and mill operations. This role leads sourcing strategies, manages procurement for direct and indirect materials and services, and drives cost savings and supplier performance in a highly collaborative, matrixed environment.Key Responsibilities:Lead procurement activities to support mill operations, ensuring efficiency and resultsDevelop and execute sourcing strategies across assigned commodity categoriesAnalyze spend, drive cost reductions, and implement strategic sourcing initiativesNegotiate contracts, service agreements, and supplier termsProvide leadership and direction to the on-site procurement teamManage supplier performance, relationships, and continuous improvement effortsPartner with stakeholders to support sourcing plans, RFIs/RFPs, and business casesEnsure compliance with ISO standards, sustainability initiatives, and company policiesQualifications:Bachelor’s degree in business, supply chain, or related field8–10 years of procurement or relevant business experienceStrong leadership, negotiation, and analytical skillsProven ability to influence cross-functional teams and drive resultsExperience with ERP systems (e.g., SAP) preferredIdeal Candidate:A strategic, results-driven leader with strong sourcing expertise, capable of optimizing spend, leading teams, and building strong supplier and stakeholder relationships.
