Senior Electrical Systems EngineerDenton, Texas, United StatesCreates, modifies, and reviews complex electrical designs while maintaining the highest quality engineering on-time and on-budget. Responsible for product research, design, modification, installation, integration, certification, and testing of aircraft interior electrical systems for commercial, VIP, and special mission aircraft applications. Assists leadership in training and process improvements.This is a temporary position employed through an agency.Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesCreates a master drawing list of electrical systems drawings and documents for project level STC.Defines electrical system architecture development by meeting client and regulatory requirements for program specific interiors including air conditioning and heating, cabin management, in-flight entertainment, in-flight communication, electrical power distribution and conversion, personal power (convenience and utility outlets, wireless charging), interior lighting, potable and waste-water systems, smoke and fire detection, security and camera systems.Designs wire diagrams, wire kits, and other technical documents as required utilizing engineering drafting and program tools.Reviews completed drawing packages from peers and approve them for release.Assists in development of verification and test procedures to comply with the latest FAA design requirements.Supports installation of systems via liaison with modification facility, identifies root cause issues, captures redline updates, resolves design issues and updates drawings to meet schedule.Interfaces with clients, customers (internal and external), FAA designees and vendors during entire project to ensure designs meet all requirements.Participates in the project bid process to capture engineering and design requirements for bid estimates and firm price quotes to customers.Participates in the project scheduling of the electrical systems to ensure accuracy to major milestones and deliverables, including identification of predecessors and successors.Prepares design checklist, templates and other processes as needed.Performs as functional 'Focal' for group on specific projects.Maintains close coordination with project engineers to comply with schedule and cost of projects.Mentors and guides other engineers on technical designs or processes.Maintains regular attendance including being at work, being on time to work and working full shifts.Other duties as assigned.CompetenciesTo perform the job successfully, an individual should demonstrate the following competencies:Adaptability – Adapts to changes in the work environment, manages competing demands, and accepts constructive criticism/feedback and changes approach or method to best fit the situation.Communications – Expresses ideas and thoughts effectively in verbal and written form, exhibits good listening and comprehension, and keeps others informed and uses appropriate communication methods.Dependability – Responds to requests for service and assistance, follows instruction and responds to management direction, takes responsibility for own actions and doing the best job possible, keeps commitments, and maintains reliable attendance.Initiative – Sets and achieves challenging goals, demonstrates persistence and overcomes obstacles, measures self against standard of excellence, recognizes and acts on opportunities, and takes calculated risks to accomplish goals.Teamwork – Balances team and individual responsibilities, exhibits objectivity and openness to others' views, gives and welcomes feedback, contributes to building a positive team spirit, and puts success of team above own interests.Work Quality – Demonstrates accuracy and thoroughness, displays commitment to excellence, looks for ways to improve and promote quality, applies feedback to improve performance, and monitors own work to ensure quality.Job Core CompetenciesCost Consciousness – Works with approved budget, develops and implements cost saving measures, contributes to profits and revenue and conserves organizational resources.Job Knowledge – Competent in required job skills and knowledge, exhibits ability to learn and apply new skills, keeps abreast of current developments, requires minimal supervision, displays understanding of how job relates to others, and uses resources effectively.Judgment – Displays willingness to make decisions, exhibits sound and accurate judgment, supports and explains reasoning for decisions, includes appropriate people in decision-making process, and makes timely decisions.Planning and Organization – Prioritizes and plans work activities, uses time efficiently, plans for additional resources, integrates changes smoothly, sets goals and objectives, and works in an organized manner.Summary of Education, Experience & CertificationBachelor's degree (B.S.) in Aerospace or Electrical engineering with minimum of 8 years relevant experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Aviation background and aircraft interior experience strongly preferred.Employees working on programs subject to International Traffic in Arms Regulations must qualify as a US Person which is defined as a US Citizen, a Permanent Resident who does not work for a foreign company/foreign government/foreign governmental agency or organization, or a political asylee for legal compliance purposes.Required Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesExtensive technical knowledge of Boeing aircraft (or similar) for VIP and/or commercial models.Strong working knowledge of for OEM data platforms (e.g. My Boeing Fleet) and technical documentation systems.Thorough knowledge of power distribution, lighting, cabin management, etc.Thorough understanding of the certification and electrical design process.Must be able to provide complex lay-outs and program design studies.Ability to work and make decisions independently with limited supervision.Ability to successfully interface with customers on projects.Competent use of CAD and data management systems.Ability to understand and derive multiple customer standard electrical system requirements.Ability to work well independently and cross-functionally across multiple organizations.Ability to coach and motivate team of engineers.Experience leading employees/teams in productive and efficient manner.Strong communication, time-management, and problem-solving skills.Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.Ability to sit for extended periods of time, use hands to lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and have close/color vision ability to adjust focus.Ability to travel as required.Ability to work outside of core business hours as required.About Greenpoint Technologies Greenpoint delivers nose-to-tail VIP Jet aircraft interiors for private clients and Heads-of-State.
