Apply today!We are seeking a skilled and motivated Lead Heavy Duty Truck Technician to provide technical leadership in our Laredo maintenance shop. This position is responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining Class 8 tractors and flatbed trailers while mentoring technicians and helping ensure safe, high-quality, and efficient shop operations.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, electrical systems, drivetrains, brakes, suspension, steering, and chassis components.Diagnose and repair Class 8 tractors and trailers from bumper to bumper.Conduct PM inspections and ensure repairs meet company quality standards.Troubleshoot OEM electronic systems using diagnostic software and tools.Assist with major component repairs and overhauls.Provide technical guidance, training, and mentorship to shop technicians.Support shop productivity, safety compliance, and quality control initiatives.Maintain accurate repair records and work orders.Role RequirementsMinimum 5 years of heavy-duty truck repair experience.Strong diagnostic and troubleshooting skills.Ability to perform complex repairs with little or no supervision.Experience with diesel engines, electrical systems, brakes, drivetrains, and preventive maintenance programs.Knowledge of hydraulic and liftgate systems preferred.Strong leadership, communication, and coaching abilities.Must maintain a professional technician tool set.Valid driver's license required.CDL preferred but not required.ASE CertificationsASE Master Medium/Heavy Truck TechnicianAll seven ASE Medium/Heavy Truck certifications (T2- T8)BenefitsCompetitive pay based on experience and certificationsMedical, dental, and vision coverageCompany-paid life insurance and short-term disabilityPaid time off and holidaysCompany matched 401(k)Career advancement opportunitiesStable, growing fleet and year-round workJoin our team and help keep our fleet operating safely, efficiently, and on time while serving as the technical leader of our Laredo maintenance shop.Equal Opportunity EmployerPGT Trucking, Inc. is proud to be an Equal Opportunity Employer and committed to creating an inclusive environment for all employees.
