Clinical Social Work-LCSW- 24 Hours Days

Position Summary Utilizing clinical social work techniques and theory, the position consults on, assesses, and intervenes with high‑risk patients and their families regarding emotional and social problems. Duties include conducting psychosocial assessments, diagnosing, planning and implementing treatments, evaluating, educating, and supervising patients and families. The role collaborates with a broad range of agencies, courts, schools, clinics, other hospitals, and physicians to provide comprehensive care. Essential Responsibilities / Duties Assess patients and families to identify emotional and social problems using the department’s psychosocial assessment tool. Identify issues requiring intervention, formulate treatment plans, and report suspected abuse or neglect. Contact family members on the same day when indicated, and collaborate with the healthcare team to address emotional and social needs. Provide psychotherapeutic treatment and psychosocial support to reduce identified problems. Ensure patients and families remain informed and supported, maintaining weekly contact and additional contact as needed. Begin inpatient assessment within 24 hours of referral, completing it within two interviews or seven working days. Complete outpatient assessment as soon as the patient allows, within two interviews. Complete ED patient assessment within four hours of discharge. Maintain confidentiality, exercise professional discretion, and document encounters per hospital policy. Provide clinical supervision to department personnel and supervise MSW/BSW students as assigned. Submit department statistics, reports, and records within required time frames. Attend staff meetings, in‑service education, obtain continuing education units, and support training programs. Monitor quality and recommend improvements, participate in committees, and represent the department to external stakeholders. Maintain a neat work area, report equipment malfunctions, and adhere to emergency procedures. Notify supervisor of patients outside regular age groups and seek specialized assistance. Other Duties Perform additional duties as needed, utilizing hospital behavioral standards and infection control procedures. Education Master’s Degree from an accredited school of Social Work. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations Required Massachusetts Licensed Certified Social Worker. Knowledge and Skills Knowledge of the Social Work process, community resources, and agencies related to health, illness, and disability. Advanced interpersonal skills for interaction with healthcare professionals and for developing therapeutic relationships with patients and families. Comfortable in fast‑paced, dynamic environments. Ability to work in interdisciplinary teams and engage culturally diverse populations. Bilingual or bicultural competency a plus. Computer literacy: word processing, spreadsheets, email, and web browsers. Compensation Range: $35.49 – $43.26 per hour (including education and licensure considerations).
