WDTN TV-/WBDT-TV, the NBC and CW Affiliates in Dayton, Ohio is searching for a dynamic, engaging LEADER to join the 2 News Anchor team. We’re looking for someone who will bring high energy, a positive attitude, and personality to the anchor desk every day. The ideal candidate is a seasoned journalist and strong storyteller who pitches and turns high-impact, people-driven stories for all day parts and platforms. He or she will use their experience to work alongside the management team to mentor and coach one another. 2 News is a leader in the community, and our anchor team regularly engages with viewers at community events year-round. Duties & Responsibilities Presents news stories and other content for all platforms Ensures that all news content meets company standards for journalistic integrity and production quality Writes and delivers news stories in a clear and concise manner Assists in writing, copy editing, researching, and coordinating news programming and other content Conducts interviews with news personnel and external entities Responds to breaking news and other urgent newsrooms situations as required Writes content for the website and other platforms Posts engaging content and interacts with viewers/users on social media sites Participates in promotional activities to include public appearances Performs special projects and other duties as assigned Requirements & Skills Bachelor’s degree in Broadcast Journalism, or a related field Minimum five years of experience in news anchoring preferred Must possess the ability to interact well with all colleagues Excellent communication skills, both oral and written with the ability to ad lib when required Presents all news without bias or prejudice Exceptional on-air presence Excellent news judgment with an expansive knowledge of local and national current events, history, newsmakers, etc. Ability to meet deadlines, prioritize assignments, and multitask simultaneously with execution showcasing your high level of experiences Exhibit coaching and leadership skills Ability to effectively listen to fully understand problems and communicate with a team to shape a solution Valid driver’s license with a good driving record Flexibility to work any shift #J-18808-Ljbffr Nexstar Media Group, Inc.
