Public Safety & Transportation Coordinator Under the direction of the Manager, Security Operations, the Public Safety & Transportation Coordinator assists in overseeing contracted subordinate Security Services personnel and managing work to safeguard The Fields at RFK Campus/Festival Grounds (“RFK Campus”) / DC Armory customers, the public, employees, facilities and supplies. Incumbent is responsible for assisting with ensuring RFK Campus/DC Armory venues are properly staffed continuously and that subordinate Security Services, Parking, Medical, and Transportation personnel are knowledgeable of RFK Campus/DC Armory building rules and regulations. Delegates patrols and post assignments. The incumbent must also be able to work flexible hours, including days, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays. Responsibilities Assist in the creation and enhancement of RFK Campus Security, Parking, Transportation and Medical Standard Operation Procedures (e.g., active assailant). Assist with ensuring contract security services maintain properly staffed security shifts with Contracted Security Officers. Assist with overseeing contract Security, Parking, Transportation, and medical performance with contract company personnel. Assist the Manager, Security Operations, Vice President, and Director, Security Operations in planning, organizing, and assigning day‑to‑day tasks. Provide input on security, parking, transportation, and medical matters related to RFK Campus. Assist in maintaining internal controls for effective operation of subordinate contractors. Assist in maintaining all logs of mandatory security patrols of RFK Campus. Assist with ensuring that staff is responsive and courteous to customers, service contractors, and co‑workers. Assist with notifying subordinate contracted companies of all events on RFK Campus and assist in creating post orders and procedures per event. Assist with ensuring that incident reports are properly completed, while also reviewing, proofreading documents, transmittal to executive staff, and maintaining in computers and logbooks. Assist with monitoring client activities to ensure compliance with established safety and security rules and regulations. Alert staff and guests to fire or other hazards. Administer basic First Aid when medical personnel are not on duty. Assist with providing on-the-job training (active assailant, fire, evacuation) for current RFK Campus staff. Assist with implementing evacuations of buildings in the event of emergencies. Assist in supervising assigned areas at the facility and observe activities to prevent criminal or hazardous activities. Assist in supervising and maintaining security cameras located at RFK Campus. Anticipate, prevent, and take appropriate measures to protect against hazardous and criminal activity. Assist in evaluating the performance of contract companies and recommend modifications; provide reports as required to the Manager, Security Operations, Senior SED, and Events DC staff, including Public Safety for all campuses. Participate in meetings related to parking/marshalling, transportation, crowd control, evaluation procedures, and emergency response procedures for events at any Events DC campuses and venues as required. Attend government agency meetings as required to represent RFK Campus. Perform a variety of related tasks and duties as assigned. Qualifications High School diploma or equivalent. Three (3) years’ experience in security management/law enforcement. Three (3) years of supervisory experience in security management/law enforcement and/or demonstrated ability to perform in a supervisory capacity.
