Some brands need a long explanation before a buyer understands why they belong on the back bar. IBÁ Mezcal makes an impression before the first pour.

The packaging draws people in. The range of expressions gives buyers and consumers something to explore. And the mezcal delivers a remarkably smooth, complex, layered experience that challenges expectations of the category.

We are building the U.S. market for IBÁ, starting in Miami. We are looking for an experienced spirits industry sales professional who wants to play a meaningful role in continuing IBÁ’s trajectory as the city’s fastest-growing mezcal. You will introduce a distinctive Oaxaca mezcal to the people who shape Miami’s hospitality scene, build genuine demand, and help establish the foundation for our expansion beyond Florida.

The opportunity

This opportunity is for someone who already has deep business relationships in Miami’s hospitality community. You know the owners, beverage directors, buyers, bartenders, and promoters who shape what people drink, and you have earned their trust.

Your primary focus will be sales: opening accounts, growing orders, and building relationships that produce lasting business. You will introduce IBÁ to your contacts, develop new opportunities across the market, and show buyers why the brand belongs in their portfolios.

You will have team support for tastings, staff education, and other activities that help accounts succeed.

That support gives you more room to do what you do best: create opportunities, close business, and keep accounts ordering.

As an early member of our U.S. market development team, your ideas and observations will help shape how we grow in Miami and prepare to enter future markets.

What you’ll do

• Open on-premise and off-premise retail accounts throughout the Miami area.
• Use your existing relationships to secure meetings with decision-makers and introduce IBÁ.
• Develop a strong pipeline of prospective accounts and move opportunities through to paid orders.
• Build relationships with owners and buyers that lead to repeat orders and wider distribution within the market.
• Work with our team to coordinate the product support an account needs after a placement.
• Track account activity, sales opportunities, orders, and follow-up in an organized way.
• Share buyer feedback and market insights that can strengthen our sales approach.

Who you are

You have personally opened and grown spirits, beverage or hospitality accounts in Miami. Your relationships are current, and you can point to business you have won and accounts you have kept ordering.

You know how to get a meeting, make a persuasive case, ask for the order, and follow through. You are energized by building a market and take ownership of your results.

You are comfortable working independently while collaborating with a team that supports the brand and the accounts you develop.

Experience selling spirits, wine or beer and professional proficiency in both English and Spanish are required. Knowledge of HubSpot is a plus. A genuine interest in mezcal and Miami’s hospitality culture matters. You must be able to meet applicable Florida requirements for the activities you perform.

Compensation

This is a 1099 independent contractor engagement with a fixed monthly retainer, a monthly expense allowance, commission on wholesale sales, and bonuses tied to new accounts and repeat orders.

Our current plan illustrates approximately $75,000 to $80,000 in total payments over the first 12 months, including the expense allowance, for strong execution against our Miami launch goals. This is an illustration, not guaranteed compensation. Actual payments depend on sales and account results, and performance compensation is uncapped. We will share the full compensation schedule with qualified candidates early in the process.
