Visual Merchandising Manager

The Visual Merchandising Manager leads visual standards and execution across all five Bailey's locations, ensuring a consistent, elevated, and commercially effective client experience. Based in the Village District flagship store, this role develops standards where vendor guidance does not exist and partners with the Chief Merchandising Officer, Merchandising Team, and Store Leadership. Reporting Structure The position operates within a dual-reporting structure: The Director of Store, Village District oversees daily scheduling, attendance, and Village District operations. The Chief Merchandising Officer directs companywide visual standards, storevisit priorities, assortment analysis, stockbalancing recommendations, and inventoryproductivity initiatives. When visiting another location, the manager coordinates daily execution with that store's leadership while remaining accountable for Bailey's companywide visual and commercial merchandising standards. Essential Responsibilities Visual Standards & Training Develop, maintain, and update visual standards, case layouts, photographic examples, and training resources for brands, categories, seasonal changes, and new product introductions. Train and coach store teams so approved standards are maintained between visits. Lead seasonal transitions and recommend fixtures, props, and display materials needed to support consistent execution. Multi-Store Commercial Merchandising Visit each store approximately once per month to audit standards, remerchandise showcases, support resets, and evaluate merchandise through a visual and sales lens. Identify assortment holes, missing categories and price points, aging or stagnant merchandise, overconcentration, and underrepresented sales opportunities. Recommend interstore transfers and stock balancing when merchandise may benefit from fresh exposure, a different client base, or stronger alignment with another store. Use available sales, inventory, aging, and sellthrough information to support recommendations and review the impact of significant merchandising changes when practical. After each visit, provide a concise report covering key observations, transfer or assortment recommendations, fixture needs, responsible partners, and followup actions. Village District & Event Execution Maintain visual excellence at the Village District flagship, including placement of new merchandise, filling gaps from back stock, monitoring program representation, and maintaining fixtures and props. Lead visual setup, merchandise coordination, reconciliation support, and breakdown for Village District trunk shows and special selling events; assist other locations when needed. Communication & Business Partnership Serve as the primary liaison between Store Leadership and the Merchandising Team regarding presentation needs, assortment opportunities, inventory gaps, stock balancing, and productplacement challenges. Balance brand consistency and client experience with inventory productivity, sellthrough, and sales opportunity. Take ownership of companywide visual execution so Store Leadership can devote more time to selling, clienteling, and managing their teams. Additional Support Support physical inventories, major floor moves, new designer launches, store openings, remodels, relocations, offsite events, and other merchandising or crossfunctional projects as assigned. Qualifications Required 2+ years of visual merchandising experience, preferably in jewelry, luxury, specialty, fashion, or lifestyle retail. Strong visual judgment with the ability to translate sales, inventory, aging, and sellthrough information into practical merchandising and stockbalancing recommendations. Familiarity with retail inventory and merchandising systems. Strong organization, attention to detail, communication, training, and documentation skills. Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, travel regularly, and physically move merchandise and display fixtures as needed. Preferred Luxury jewelry experience and experience supporting store openings, resets, or remodels. Success Measures Consistent execution of approved visual standards across all five locations. Timely, actionable storevisit reports and followthrough on identified opportunities. Identification of assortment gaps, missing price points, aging merchandise, and effective stockbalancing recommendations. Measurable improvement in sellthrough and inventory productivity following significant merchandising changes, where results can reasonably be evaluated. Effective execution of seasonal transitions, launches, floor moves, trunk shows, and special events.
