As a global manufacturing leader, we design and build products that support critical infrastructure around the world—from utility poles to communication towers, industrial products, and more. What You’ll Do Determine changes, corrections, and requirements to meet project needs Create sketches for use by other designers/drafters Interpret specifications and standards to ensure customer requirements are met or improved Communicate with customers (written and verbal) to resolve specification questions before drawings are prepared Collaborate with team members to develop shop drawings and provide project input Perform other essential tasks as assigned What We’re Looking For CAD skills, including design applications and the ability to convert drawings to 3D models Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint) Strong communication skills—verbal, written, and interpersonal Ability to work effectively in a team environment Demonstrated problem-solving and critical-thinking skills Preferred Enrolled in an accredited college or university pursuing a degree in Drafting & Design Autodesk Inventor experience What You’ll Gain Paid internship with meaningful, career-related work experience Ability to participate in 401K plan Tuition assistance and medical benefits available based on hours worked Part-time during the academic year, full-time and flexible in the summer, with potential for a full-time position post-graduation A supportive culture focused on learning and growth Opportunities to collaborate with intern peers and company leaders Benefits Valmont offers employees and their families a comprehensive Total Wellbeing benefit package to ensure their individual and family’s overall wellness needs are met.
