Position: ICU Nights Registered Nurse

Shift Details

Join our team as an ICU Nights Registered Nurse with the following shift schedule:

3x12-hour shifts (7:00 PM - 7:30 AM)
Start Date: October 27
Every other weekend required (Note: Sunday night is not considered a weekend)

Floating Requirements

Floating to other units, including Telemetry and Med-Surg, may be required based on facility needs.

Required Certifications

ACLS
BLS
NIHSS

Core Responsibilities

The ICU Registered Nurse will be responsible for the following:

Interpretation and management of dysrhythmias
Provide care for patients with multisystem organ dysfunction/failure
Perform central venous pressure monitoring (CVP)
Administer emergency medications, blood products, and IV insulin protocols
Manage patients with chronic and acute renal failure
Utilize critical care protocols, including hypothermia and sedation
Assist in procedures such as chest tube insertion/removal and lumbar drains
Care for ventilated patients and manage respiratory failure
Monitor and manage external ventricular drains (EVD) and ICP
Perform phlebotomy and care for surgical wounds with drains

Skills Required

Accessing and managing ports
Arterial line management
Continuous IV sedation and paralytics management
Knowledge of high-flow nasal cannula (HFNC) usage
Experience with infection prevention and isolation precautions
Strong critical thinking and patient assessment abilities

Patient Demographics

The ICU serves a diverse patient population including:

Adults
Geriatrics

Patient Diagnostics and Special Procedures

The unit typically manages the following cases:

STEMI
Sepsis
Trauma
Neuro conditions

Location

This position is located in a well-equipped facility in [City, State] .

Additional Information

Orientation includes a 24-hour training period, and annual modules are required to maintain proficiency.
