Working across product, engineering, business development, logistics, and operations, the Maritime team develops, tests, deploys, and sustains the Anduril maritime capabilities in a challenging operational environment worldwide. As a leader in the Maritime Division, you must be a technical leader with the expertise to evaluate, qualify, manage, and advocate for an increasing number of sophisticated parallel pursuits. This role is crucial in ensuring that each initiative aligns with the company’s strategic direction and receives the appropriate resourcing, balancing innovation with practical execution to drive the business line’s success.ABOUT THE JOBYou will lead structural mechanical design for a maritime autonomous vehicle. Reporting to the Structures Lead, you will own the primary structure, performing analysis and design for pressure across the full ocean depth envelope.The structure has to survive full-depth pressure cycling, marine corrosion, and fatigue over the vehicle's service life, while staying light enough to meet buoyancy and endurance targets. Those three pull against each other, and this role owns the trade.WHAT YOU'LL DOOwn structural mechanical design for the vehicle primary structurePerform structural analysis: FEA and hand calculationsSelect materials and protective coatings for marine environmentsDefine structural interfaces with propulsion, buoyancy, energy, and payload systemsSupport GD&T definition and interface with manufacturingDrive trade studies balancing structural mass, strength, and producibilitySupport prototype builds and structural test campaignsContribute to design reviews (PDR, CDR) and documentationTravel up to 25% to test sites and manufacturing facilitiesREQUIRED QUALIFICATIONSBachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent5+ years of experience in structural design and analysis for marine, aerospace, or robotic systemsProficiency with FEA tools (ANSYS, Abaqus, or equivalent)Experience with materials selection for corrosive or high-pressure environmentsAbility to obtain and maintain a U.S. Secret security clearancePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONSExperience with pressure vessel or submarine structure designWorking knowledge of composite structures for marine applicationsExperience with fatigue and fracture mechanics analysisFamiliarity with ASME or DNV structural design codesExperience in defense or maritime roboticsUS Salary Range$166,000—$220,000 USDThe salary range for this role is an estimate based on a wide range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
