Staff Accountant

JOB SUMMARY:

The Staff Accountant supports day-to-day accounting operations, including accounts payable, installer/subcontractor payments, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end close, while helping ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance with accounting standards and internal controls. The ideal candidate is comfortable with high-volume transactional work as a core, ongoing part of the job today, while also contributing to broader accounting functions across the department. As the team implements a new Salesforce platform, this role has the opportunity to grow in scope and take on more senior-level responsibilities over time. Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES:

Process and log accounts payable transactions and subcontractor payments Reconcile bank statements, credit card statements, vendor accounts, and general ledger entries Assist with month-end and year-end closing procedures, including journal entries Prepare and maintain financial reports, spreadsheets, and supporting documentation Monitor and resolve discrepancies in invoices, payments, and account balances Support internal and external audits by providing necessary documentation Support billing processes and collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial transactions Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to streamline processes and enhance the customer experience Maintain compliance with company policies and accounting standards Take on increasing responsibility across the accounting function as skills develop

QUALIFICATIONS:

1-4 years of accounting experience 1-2 years of public accounting experience OR 3-4 years of private industry accounting experience would be preferred Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field Solid understanding of debit/credit principles and general ledger fundamentals Experience with accounts payable, bank reconciliations, journal entries, and general ledger work Strong Excel skills Billing experience and construction industry knowledge a plus Salesforce experience preferred Self-starter with strong drive and a genuine desire to grow
