Normal Work Schedule:  Monday - Friday 8:00am to 5:00pm, some evenings and weekends as necessary

Job Summary:  The Research Project Coordinator supports the overall development of research project(s). Assists with project design, management, and implementation. Promotes the project and serves as liaison between the project and contacts internal and external to the University. May supervise students, provide general office assistance, create promotional materials, and assist in the development of other potential projects.

Additional Department Summary:  The Alabama Mobile Crisis Response Collaborative (A-MCRC) grant proposes to expand and enhance mobile crisis services across the state. The A-MCRC team will assess mobile crisis services statewide, directly assist two community mental health centers in enhancing and expanding services and engaging communities in crisis service awareness—in addition to assisting the state in establishing fidelity measures and guidelines for all mobile crisis services. Through assessing needs and implementation processes, the project will create an implementation work plan that meets national best practices including a sustainable funding model. The project is responsible for creating a standardized level of quality among providers of mobile crisis services through best practices in program design, development, implementation, and continuous quality improvement efforts.

The Training & Outreach Coordinator will help to coordinate and complete all project-related activities. The Training & Outreach Coordinator will have the responsibility of coordinating a variety of activities, materials, and information to support the clinical implementation of best-practice-level adult, youth and child mobile crisis programs. The Training & Outreach Coordinator supports the development and coordination of community development programs, training programs, supports program evaluation, and provides technical assistance to both internal and external community partners. Additionally, the coordinator will support grant-related activities of A-MCRC to coordinate all training and outreach-related activities. Will assist the A-MCRC team in communicating with local and state boards. Will maintain and coordinate the project’s social media efforts alongside the VitAL Communications Specialist.

Required Minimum Qualifications:  Bachelor's degree or higher and some experience coordinating projects.

Additional Required Department Minimum Qualifications:  Must have valid U.S. driver's license. Must be at least 19 years of age at time of hire and have an acceptable Motor Vehicle Report that is in compliance with University policies. Applicants under the age of 21 will have some driving restrictions.

Skills and Knowledge:  Strong organizational skills as evidenced by work history. Able to work independently using sound judgment and solid decision-making skills to solve problems and to work through barriers that may impact progress. Experience with basic office software such as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. Able to conduct educational sessions for providers and/or community as needed.

Preferred Qualifications:  Bachelor's Degree in social work, counseling, nursing, health education, health promotion or a related field and three (3) years experience, OR Master's degree in a health-related field, including applied behavioral sciences, psychology, or social work and direct experience in a behavioral health program.
