Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Labor & Delivery Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Current/recent high-risk OB experience in a Level II trauma facility is required. Experience in labor and delivery is required. Experience in antepartum, C-section, and vaginal delivery is required. Experience in postpartum/mother-baby care is preferred. No first-time travelers; must have completed at least one travel assignment in the previous 12 months. License: Active Iowa/IA license or compact/multistate license is required. Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification is required. Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification is required. AWHONN certification is required. Must-Have: Intermediate or advanced Electronic Fetal Monitoring (EFM) or AWHONN certificate is required. EPIC EMR experience is required. Work history/resume/employment history must have recent/current labor and delivery experience. Description: The Registered Nurse will work in a Labor and Delivery unit. The nurse will be required to float across various campuses. The unit has a bed size of 45 with a 1:1-2 patient ratio. Patient types include high-risk obstetrics, antepartum care, C-sections, and vaginal deliveries. The unit manages approximately 150 deliveries per month. The nurse will administer drips such as magnesium, insulin, and pitocin. The contractor is required to work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays unless the unit is closed. The nursing staff will be involved in high-stakes, critical care situations and will work closely with physicians and other healthcare professionals. This position requires strong clinical skills and a commitment to delivering quality patient care.
