Full-Time Receiving Clerk

Are you organized, dependable, and someone who likes to keep things moving? Do you enjoy hands-on work and being part of a team where what you do makes a difference every day? Valley Natural Foods is looking for a Full-Time Receiving Clerk to help keep our busy, community-owned food co-op running smoothly. You'll work with deliveries, vendors, inventory, and coworkers throughout the store to make sure products get where they need to go safely, accurately, and efficiently.

As a Receiving Clerk, you'll play an important behind-the-scenes role in keeping our shelves stocked and our departments ready to serve customers. You'll:

• Receive and check in deliveries accurately and efficiently
• Verify products, quantities, invoices, and paperwork
• Help organize and maintain a clean, safe, and efficient receiving area
• Communicate with vendors and store departments to resolve delivery questions or discrepancies
• Move products safely using carts, pallet jacks, and other equipment
• Help ensure products are routed to the right departments quickly
• Follow food safety, workplace safety, and inventory procedures
• Pitch in where needed, because at a co-op, teamwork matters!
• Lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 pounds frequently, 30-50+ pounds occasionally

What We're Looking For:

• Regular, predictable attendance and the ability to consistently work a 6:00 a.m. start time
• Comfort using computer systems; experience with inventory/POS systems and Microsoft Office
• Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to meet deadlines and follow through on commitments
• Clear and effective communication skills and a friendly, service-oriented approach
• Strong critical-thinking and problem-solving skills
• High standards of integrity, accountability, and professionalism

Mandatory Qualifications:

• Regular, predictable attendance
• English proficiency.
• Strong organizational, time management and communication skills (spoken, listening, & written).
• Friendly customer service with a sense of urgency
• Familiarity with IMS/POS and MS Office Suite
• Ability to meet deadlines, coordinate projects and work varied hours and days.
• Strong critical thinking and problem solving skills. High ethical standards with personal integrity.
• Demonstrated objectivity, neutrality, and calmness under pressure and timely follow-through to commitments
• Detail oriented, able to multi-task and remain flexible to the changing needs of the business

Preferred Qualifications:

• 2+ years previous experience in IMS/Receiving/Operations environment
• Previous experience in retail, grocery/co-ops, natural foods or related industry.

Physical Demands:

• Ability to lift/push/pull/carry up to 30 pounds frequently, 30-50+ pounds occasionally
• Manual dexterity with ability to grasp and perform repetitive motions with hands, wrists, and fingers for extended periods of time
• Close visual acuity to focus on and/or read data and words on a computer monitor for extended periods of time
• Ability to perform sedentary work for extended periods of time; standing and walking regularly required
• Ability to climb ladders, kneel, crouch, bend, and reach regularly required
• Ability to work safely with hazardous chemicals and equipment
• Ability physically handle all products that Valley Natural Foods carries

For safety and liability reasons, only certified individuals are able to operate the forklift
