Production Worker

The Production Worker supports the manufacturing of high-quality composite boat components by following detailed blueprints and work instructions, performing trimming, assembly, and finishing tasks, and ensuring each part meets strict quality and safety standards. This role involves hands-on work with fiberglass, lamination, grinding, and other production processes while collaborating closely with team members to achieve daily production goals.

Responsibilities

• Review blueprints and follow detailed work instructions for each composite part to ensure accurate production.
• Trim, assemble, and finish composite components to precise specifications using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Inspect parts for accuracy, structural integrity, and surface quality, identifying and addressing defects as needed.
• Use hand tools, grinding tools, and other equipment safely and effectively to perform production tasks.
• Support various aspects of boat building, including pouring materials into molds, chipping, grinding, fiberglass work, and lamination.
• Maintain tools and equipment in proper working condition and report any issues promptly.
• Document work and production activities according to company guidelines and procedures.
• Follow all safety procedures, including proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE) and adherence to lamination-area protocols.
• Keep work areas clean, organized, and free of debris to support production flow, safety, and quality.
• Take direction from team leads and collaborate with teammates to meet production targets and deadlines.
• Participate in cross-training across different production tasks and teams to support flexible staffing and workflow.

Essential Skills

• Ability to read and follow detailed work instructions and basic blueprints.
• Experience or strong comfort with using hand tools and grinding tools in a production or construction setting.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks, including standing and walking for 8+ hours per shift.
• Capability to regularly bend, lift, and twist while handling materials and parts.
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds safely and consistently.
• Willingness and ability to work in dusty, loud, non-climate-controlled environments.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality to support consistent production schedules.
• Positive attitude and strong willingness to learn new skills and processes.
• Team-oriented mindset with the ability to follow instructions accurately and work collaboratively.
• Basic understanding of safety practices and commitment to using PPE as required.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED preferred.
• Experience in boat building, marine manufacturing, construction, carpentry, or similar hands-on trades is beneficial.
• Background or familiarity with fiberglass work, lamination, or composite manufacturing is a plus.
• Comfort working with grinding, chipping, and other material-removal processes.
• Ability to adapt to cross-training and perform multiple roles within the production area.
• Strong attention to detail to maintain quality standards on finished components.

Work Environment

The role is based in a large warehouse production facility that is not climate controlled, which means temperatures can become very hot during the summer months. The environment includes paint and lamination areas, resulting in a mild chemical smell upon entering and exposure to dust and noise throughout the shift. Team members commonly wear safety glasses, and some roles require full PPE and respirators depending on the task and area. The position involves being on your feet for most of the day, moving around the production floor, and working with tools and materials in an active, hands-on manufacturing setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Moncks Corner, SC.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $32.00/hr.
