Family Attorney

Our law firm is seeking a family attorney who can assist clients in navigating the sensitive legal issues of family law, including child custody, divorce, and domestic violence. Applicants should be equally familiar with prenuptial agreements, child support, and enforcement matters and should be able to effectively communicate in a courtroom and negotiate, as needed, even in highly stressful and emotional situations. Responsibilities: • Manage the division of marital assets, including real estate, during divorce proceedings when needed • Assist clients effectively by understanding their needs analyzing the situation then strategizing and deciding on a proper course of action • Prepare legal documents such as legal pleadings, motions, marital settlement agreements, contracts, judgments, and orders for a high volume of cases • Collaborate with senior partners and paralegals to effectively move files through the civil litigation process • Ensure clients are effectively represented at court hearings as needed Qualifications: • Great negotiation and communication skills, particularly in stressful and emotional situations • 4-year degree with a legal background and J.D. degree are necessary for this position • Must have worked on family law issues for at least 1-2 years; handling of real estate also required • Extra consideration for those with a criminal justice background • Strong knowledge base of representing plaintiffs and defendants • Must be a licensed Texas attorney and not awaiting bar results • Must have no less than 3 years in family law • Must live in the Dallas metroplex or be willing to commute to Dallas Compensation: $100,000 - $195,000 yearly
