Salary: $17.51-$19.57 per hour

Duties and Responsibilities

The Dining Server ensures the courteous and professional service of meals to residents and their guests while maintaining clean and orderly dining areas. This position plays a key role in creating a positive dining experience and serves as an important ambassador for the community through daily interactions with residents, families, and guests.

Responsibilities include:

• Attending training to receive instruction on the proper handling, storage, portioning, plating, and serving of food items.
• Performing pre-opening and closing checklist duties, including setting up service areas, setting dining room tables, placing menus, refilling supplies, organizing serving utensils, and clearing and stacking glassware and silverware.
• Assisting with the overall flow of dining operations during meal periods.
• Presenting menu items knowledgeably, taking orders, plating food, and serving beverages, appetizers, entrées, side dishes, and desserts in a professional manner.
• Assisting caregivers as needed to ensure efficient meal service.
• Assisting residents with special dietary needs, as appropriate.
• Maintaining residents' tables by promptly removing used dishes, clearing debris, cleaning spills, refreshing beverages, and replenishing condiments as needed.
• Informing supervisory staff of food needs and any resident questions or concerns that cannot be addressed directly.
• Participating in the setup, service, and breakdown of special events, as well as maintaining the 24-hour beverage and snack station.
• Performing additional duties as assigned, including food preparation and utility tasks.
• Attending required training courses and participating in professional development activities.
• Reporting any suspicion or evidence of elder abuse, neglect, or mistreatment in accordance with Personnel Policies.

Qualifications

• Must be able to communicate clearly and professionally with people of all ages while maintaining a positive and energetic attitude.
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English and follow both verbal and written instructions.
• Previous experience in a similar position within a senior living, retirement living, or hospitality setting is preferred.
• Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.
• Physical health must be verified by a physician through a health screening conducted no more than six (6) months before employment or within seven (7) days after the start of employment.
• Must demonstrate freedom from pulmonary tuberculosis through a physician-performed health screening conducted no more than six (6) months before employment or within seven (7) days after the start of employment.
• Must successfully complete all required pre-employment background checks in accordance with applicable federal, state, and local regulations.
