About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse - Labor & Delivery Profession: Registered Nurse (RN) Specialty: Labor & Delivery (L&D) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Nights Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 24 months in Labor Delivery and completed education in maternal and child health. License: Active Iowa license or compact/multistate license required. Certifications: BLS ACLS (AHA) NRP Intermediate EFM (Electronic Fetal Monitoring) certificate Must-Have: 24 months of Labor Delivery experience EPIC experience required References from previous employers within the last 24 months preferred NRP certification required Description: We are seeking a skilled Registered Nurse specializing in Labor & Delivery. The position requires exceptional clinical expertise and commitment to patient care. Candidates must possess a strong background in labor, delivery, postpartum, and newborn nursery care. Candidates may occasionally float to other units, such as Med Surg or ICU, to assist with medication administration or patient care. This role involves working with a varied patient population and administering care according to protocols. The nurse-to-patient ratio in active labor is 1:1, and in postpartum care, it is 1:3-4 with couplets. Qualified candidates will be responsible for the titration of medications such as Pitocin. Successful candidates will possess strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach to care. The role may include participation in educational initiatives and vital sign monitoring.
