6th-8th Grade Paraprofessional Instructional Aid - Lumen Christi, Mequon, WI Lumen Christi Catholic School, a high-performing exemplary suburban school committed to academic excellence and faith-based education, is seeking a dedicated Paraprofessional to support students in grades 6–8 for the 2026-2027 school year. Job Purpose: To provide targeted academic, behavioral, and organizational support to students needing assistance, allowing teachers to maximize instructional and learning time in the classroom. Key Responsibilities May Include: Assisting the lead teacher during whole-group instruction by monitoring student understanding and helping maintain on-task behavior. Working one-on-one or in small groups with students to reinforce content introduced by the teacher, particularly in literacy and math. Supporting students with executive functioning skills such as organization, time management, task initiation, and follow-through. Participating in classroom planning and preparation of lessons or assessments. Providing input to the teacher when preparing for parent/guardian meetings regarding student progress and behavior. Supervising students during specials (Art, Music, PE, ACES, Spanish), lunch, recess, Mass, field trips, and other school-related activities. Assuming leadership of the classroom when the teacher is absent. Supporting instructional staff with classroom preparation, grading, note-taking, and testing. Maintaining clear, professional communication with staff and families under the direction of the lead teacher. Qualifications: Experience working with middle school students preferred. Strong interpersonal skills, patience, and the ability to work collaboratively with teachers and students. Ability to support students in developing executive functioning skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times. Practicing Catholic preferred, but not required.
