American Traveler is hiring a Telemetry RN for a night shift position at a Level II trauma center, requiring 2 years of telemetry experience and prior travel assignment experience.

Details:

• 38-bed telemetry unit staffed with RNs, CNAs, Critical Care Techs (CCTs), and Advanced Care Techs (ACTs)
• Patient ratios typically range from 1:4 to 1:6 based on acuity
• CCTs monitor ECG rhythms on all telemetry patients 24/7
• ACTs assist with transport, admit/discharge tasks, IV and Foley insertion, ADLs, and limited medication administration
• Patient population includes CHF, alcohol withdrawal, NSTEMIs, sepsis, dysrhythmias, pneumonia, COPD, and COVID
• Cares for post-procedure patients including pacemakers, ablations, cath lab procedures, and downgraded OHS patients from ICU
• Administers non-titratable cardiac medication drips (Cardizem, Lasix, Nitro, etc)
• 3x12 night shift schedule with 36 guaranteed weekly hours
• No call requirements
• May float to ICU for telemetry/medical appropriate assignments, medical-surgical units, and an additional facility location
• Uses Epic EMR charting

Requirements:

• Active NV RN license required prior to start
• Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications (AHA for BLS/ACLS)
• Minimum 2 years of telemetry experience required
• Must pass a telemetry competency exam including rhythm strip identification and measurement
• Prior travel experience of at least one completed 13-week assignment required
• Level II trauma center experience preferred given high-acuity, fast-paced environment

Additional Information:

• Provides individualized nursing care through assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation for adolescent, adult, and geriatric patients
• Coordinates care with other professionals including Rapid Response Team, phlebotomists, EKG technicians, and Respiratory Therapists
• Located at a Level II trauma center with 800 inpatient beds and 80 ER beds serving a 500-mile radius
• May be required to float to other units based on organizational needs up to competency level
• Required to work major holidays, with a minimum of 2 major holidays required per assignment
• Must pick up one additional shift every 4-week schedule period
• Facility reserves right to cancel shifts with 48 hours notice for low census per 13-week contract
• Candidates must reside more than 60 miles from the facility; local candidates not accepted
• EMR training provided during orientation or candidates may test out
• RNs who have never held a temporary or permanent license may still be considered but must apply promptly upon offer
• Returning travelers must complete a 13-week break after ending a prior contract
• Requested time off (RTO) must be submitted with the application and will not be added to the end of the contract
