What’s it like to work at APDO The Pediatric Dental Assistant is responsible for creating a welcoming environment for our patients and parents, focusing on education, relationship building, and upholding our concierge approach to high‑end pediatric dentistry. Key Responsibilities Creating a friendly atmosphere for dental procedures, helping patients feel comfortable and at ease. Educating children and parents about proper oral hygiene practices, including brushing, flossing, and dietary habits. Assisting the dentist during examinations, treatments, and procedures by providing instruments and materials, and ensuring compliance with infection control for a safe and sterile environment. Performing coronal polish and taking digital dental X‑rays, ensuring proper positioning and image quality. Collaborating with the dental team to develop effective treatment plans for patients. DANB X‑ray certification. Coronal polish certification (or in process of completing). Experience working in a pediatric dental setting is a plus but not required. Excellent communication skills, especially when interacting with children and parents. Empathy, patience, and a genuine interest in helping young patients have positive dental experiences. Familiarity with dental software for charting and record‑keeping. Knowledge of infection control and sterilization procedures. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and contribute to a positive work environment. Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
