Key Responsibilities of the RN - Labor and Delivery

• Conduct thorough assessments across Pediatric to Geriatric stages of growth and development.
• Deliver competent clinical skills as part of patient care delivery and team concept.
• Maintain complete and accurate documentation of the nursing process and patient education.
• Respond professionally and courteously to patients and families, ensuring a patient-centered environment.
• Adhere to National Patient Safety Goals using safe transfer techniques and proper body mechanics.
• Individualize patient care based on procedure and anesthesia type across the continuum of care.
• Contribute to the perioperative team by prioritizing patient care and assuming accountability.
• Perform pre-operative and postoperative patient assessments and education.
• Evaluate Pre Admission Testing (PAT) orders for appropriateness based on surgery and patient health.

Requirements of the RN - Labor and Delivery

• ACLS - Required
• BLS - Required
• RN License - Required
• Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing
• Associate's or Bachelor's Degree - Preferred
