Seasonal Golf Professional/Shop Assistant

Overview Assists in developing, instituting, and managing member‑oriented programs and services. These include but are not limited to: Services and maintenance of a professional and elegant‑looking pro shop. Assists members in the shop with any questions they may have. Toptracer Range Golf Tournaments, Events and Leagues Lessons, Golf Clinics, Junior Camps (based on qualifications) Golf Course marking and defining Club Repair Experience Required High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one year certificate from college or technical school or three to six months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Certificates, Licenses, Registrations PGM Program with the PGA of America is preferred. Essential Responsibilities Provides assistance for members and guests in the Pro Shop. Organizes and coordinates golf leagues, outings and special events. Assists tee‑time coordination. Assists in the maintenance of an accurate inventory. Marks and defines golf courses. Produces educational films for members and guests on the current technology. Performs club repair which includes grips, cut downs and epoxies. Communicates with members, co‑workers, management and the general public in a courteous and professional manner. Conforms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures and instructions. Exhibits and maintains a professional demeanor to reflect a positive image of The Polo Club. Performs other duties as assigned by the First Assistant Senior Golf Professional. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities Must have good customer service skills. Knowledge of golf merchandise is helpful. Requires responsibility and accountability. Requires good time/task management, and a positive and upbeat attitude. Requires proficiency with club repair tools such as a vice, grip knife and shaft cutter. Ability to verbally communicate well in English and in writing. Ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English. Ability to interact professionally and maintain effective working relationships with superiors, co‑workers and members. Must be able to multi‑task and work in a fast paced environment. Supervisory Responsibilities This job does not have supervisory responsibilities. Knowledge of PowerPoint software. Knowledge of Internet software. Physical Demands The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision and color vision and ability to adjust focus. Specific hearing abilities required by this job include wearing a surveillance earpiece head set connected to radio. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance and stoop, kneel, or crouch. Work Environment While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to outdoor weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to work near moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. Drug‑Free Policy Polo Club is a drug‑free workplace. Work Schedule and Time Off Polo Club operates its business seven (7) days a week all year long. All employees are required to have flexibility to accommodate the business needs including all weekends and all holidays. There may be split shifts assigned per day. The time off scheduled during the week will vary and be based upon the club's business activities. Work Authorization Proof of your work eligibility must be produced within 3 days of your employment commencement date.
