DC Unarmed SPO - Per Diem ($23/hr)

Securemedy Incorporated is currently hiring experienced Unarmed Special Police Officers (SPOs) for per diem assignments in Washington, DC. We are seeking ALL-SEASON EXTERIOR SECURITY PROFESSIONALS with excellent customer service, communication, and adaptability skills. Officers must be comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions, standing for extended periods, and rotating between multiple posts throughout each shift. Position Overview This per diem opportunity is ideal for professional, dependable, and safety-focused SPOs looking for flexible scheduling opportunities within a private school environment. Officers will support daily campus security operations while maintaining a safe, welcoming, and secure atmosphere for students, staff, and visitors. The ideal candidate has prior school security or law enforcement experience, demonstrates strong judgment, and can respond effectively to incidents while maintaining a visible and approachable presence on campus. Key Responsibilities Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, staff, and visitors Monitor entrances and exits while enforcing access control procedures Conduct visitor screening and verify identification Perform routine patrols of school grounds and surrounding areas Respond promptly to incidents, emergencies, and disturbancesDe-escalate conflicts and enforce school safety policies Collaborate with school administration and emergency personnel as needed Complete accurate and timely incident reports Maintain a professional and visible security presence Assist with student arrival, dismissal, and daily school operations Requirements Active Washington, DC Special Police Officer (SPO) License required Prior security or law enforcement experience required (school setting preferred) High School Diploma or GED required Must be at least 21 years of age Strong knowledge of security procedures and public safety practices Excellent communication and conflict-resolution skills Ability to interact professionally with students, staff, and the public Must successfully pass a drug screening and physical examination CPR/AED certification preferred Ability to stand, walk, and remain alert for extended periods Schedule Type: Per Diem / As Needed Location: Washington, DC Education Requirements (All) HS Diploma/GED Certification Requirements (All) Additional Information / Benefits Medical Insurance Dental Insurance Vision Insurance Paid Sick Days Paid Holidays 401K/403b Plan This job reports to the Site Supervisor This is a Per Diem position: 1st Shift, 2nd Shift, 3rd Shift, School Hours, Weekends, Summers. #J-18808-Ljbffr
