Hematology/Oncology Physician Opportunity Waterbury, Connecticut A healthcare facility in Waterbury, Connecticut is seeking a locum Hematology/Oncology physician for coverage beginning as soon as credentialed. Compensation: $550/hr, night call $400 and $650/hr call back at night Position Details Specialty: Hematology / Oncology Practice Setting: Outpatient with inpatient call coverage Coverage Dates: September December 2026 Reason for Coverage: Maternity leave Schedule: Monday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday Outpatient clinic hours: 8:30 AM 5:00 PM Call Schedule: 1:3 evening call coverage Weekend call: Friday 4:00 PM Monday 7:00 AM Clinical Responsibilities Outpatient hematology and oncology care Inpatient hematology/oncology consults and rounding Participation in Tumor Board meetings Ordering tests and imaging studies Prescribing medications and treatment plans Patient Population Adult Geriatric OB patients Practice Breakdown Hematology: 60% Oncology: 40% Patient Volume Outpatient clinic: Approximately patients per day Inpatient call/rounding: Approximately 1 5 patients per day Practice Environment Collaborative oncology practice with: 3 physicians 2 APPs Radiation Oncology support available Chemotherapy administered by oncology nursing staff EMR: Epic Level II Trauma Center Requirements Board Certified in Hematology/Oncology Active Connecticut license required at time of submission BLS certification required Local providers only NPDB Self-Query report required within the same month as presentation Additional Information Expedited credentialing may be available if needed Local candidates preferred; mileage reimbursement only Trinity Health does not reimburse credentialing or application fees
