Registered Nurse - Telemetry

This position focuses on caring for patients requiring medical-level cardiac care. The patient population ranges from young adults to geriatric patients. Priority is given to patients recovering from cardiac interventions. These interventions include cardiac surgery, coronary artery stent placement, and pacemaker implantation. Patients who are hemodynamically stable and do not require procedural care are also admitted. The unit consists of 36 private rooms. The nursing responsibilities include: Accessing and managing ports. Performing arterial line management. Managing BiPAP and CPAP. Administering blood products. Monitoring cardiac telemetry. Caring for central lines and feeding tubes. Implementing heparin protocols. Handling high flow nasal cannula and IV insulin protocols. Managing vasoactive drips. Interpreting dysrhythmias and performing isolation precautions. Working with patients post-cardiac angiogram and post-myocardial infarction. Titrating insulin drips and caring for tracheostomies. Interdisciplinary support includes physical therapy, respiratory services, social services, and pharmacy.

Experience: Minimum 1.5 years of experience in telemetry nursing required. License: Current state or compact nursing license required. Certifications: BLS, NIHSS, ACLS preferred. Must-Have: Travel experience preferred. Previous charge experience preferred. Patient ratio experience of 1:5.
