Job Description

The Cardiovascular Surgical Technologist assists a surgeon before, during, and after surgery under the direction and supervision of a Registered Nurse, according to accepted clinical standards of care. This role is critical in the functioning of the cardiovascular operating room (CVOR) and involves the preparation and maintenance of the surgical environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist in Open Heart cases including CABG, MVR, AVR, Pacemaker placements, and laser lead extractions.
• Provide standby assistance for endovascular procedures, TVAR, and mitral clips.
• Maintain open heart instrumentation and ensure all supplies are ready and available for surgical procedures.
• Function independently and adapt to a fast-paced environment.
• May provide lunch relief in various service lines including Vascular, Robotics, General Surgery, and others.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Current BLS certification.
• Minimum of 2 years of current experience in an acute CVOR setting.
• Ability to scrub assist in Open Heart cases.
• Prefer experience in minimally invasive cardiac procedures.
