CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator - 2nd Shift
Location: Owasso, OK
Schedule: Monday-Thursday, 4:30 PM - 2:30 AM
Overtime Available on Fridays
Pay: $25.00-$28.00 per hour DOE + $2.00 Shift Differential

HireCall is currently seeking an experienced CNC Lathe Set-Up Operator for a premier precision manufacturing facility. This is an excellent opportunity for a highly skilled machinist who can independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and maintain Mazak CNC lathes in a quality-driven manufacturing environment.

Responsibilities

CNC Machine Setup & Operation

• Independently set up and operate Mazak CNC lathes including QT, Nexus, Integrex, and similar models
• Load raw materials and configure tooling, offsets, fixtures, and workholding
• Verify machine setup accuracy before production begins
• Monitor machine performance and make adjustments as needed to ensure efficiency and quality
• Maintain production schedules while meeting quality standards

Programming & Technical Interpretation

• Read and interpret blueprints, engineering drawings, work orders, and GD&T specifications
• Edit Mazatrol conversational programs and/or G-code programs at the machine
• Adjust tooling paths, feeds, and speeds to optimize machining performance
• Troubleshoot machining issues and implement corrective actions

Quality Control & Inspection

• Perform in-process and final inspections using:
  • Micrometers
  • Calipers
  • Dial Indicators
  • Gauges
• Verify all finished parts meet dimensional and quality specifications
• Maintain compliance with company quality standards and procedures

Maintenance & Troubleshooting

• Perform routine machine maintenance, lubrication, and cleaning
• Troubleshoot machine alarms, tooling issues, and production concerns
• Conduct basic machine diagnostics to minimize downtime

Documentation & Safety

• Complete production reports, inspection records, and machine logs accurately
• Follow all safety procedures and manufacturing standards
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Required Qualifications

• 2-5+ years of experience operating and setting up Mazak CNC lathes
• Experience with Mazatrol conversational programming and/or G-code editing
• Strong setup experience including tooling, fixtures, and part setup
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and GD&T specifications
• Knowledge of speeds, feeds, tooling selection, and machining practices
• Experience using precision measuring equipment
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• High School Diploma or GED required

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with multi-axis and live-tooling Mazak machines
• Familiarity with ISO 9001 or AS9100 manufacturing environments
• Forklift experience or certification
• Experience with SPC tracking and ERP systems
• Technical school or vocational machining training
